Austria have won their first European Championship. Austria beat Northern Macedonia 3-1 in Group C for the first time on Sunday.

Substitutes Marco Arnautovic and Mitchell Gregortic scored to give Austria the victory. Macedonia’s hopes were almost dashed when Gregortich scored on a cross from captain David Alba 12 minutes before the end of the game. Arnautovich scored in the 89th minute. Earlier, Macedonia equalized in the 28th minute through a goal by Goran Pandev in the lead of Austria given by Stephen Lanner. Pandev, is Macedonia’s top scorer.

Macedonia entered international football only 20 years ago and the team has played 120 games.
