Bale received the Star of the Match award

Gareth Bale won the Star of the Match award. He paid the penalty in Wales’ 2-0 win but assisted on both goals. He also created many other scoring opportunities. Wiley Ruttensteiner, a technical observer at UEFA, presented the award to Bale, who said that the final pass and performance in the game led to the victory despite missing the penalty. He also praised Bale’s leadership ability.
Ramsey scored the opening goal using a long pass from Bale in the 42nd minute. He also assisted on a goal by Connor Roberts during the injury. But in the 61st minute, Bale could not use the penalty well. After Bale fought inside the penalty area, his shot went over the post.

Bale said he was happy with the team’s performance despite not being able to score on penalties. “We worked very hard. I am very happy with this victory. Yes, it was unfortunate not being able to score on penalties, but even then I was able to play consistently well. The second goal gave more joy to the game, ‘he said.
