Exports worth Rs 1 kharba 8 arba in ten months

Exports have increased by 32.19 percent during the ten months of the current Fiscal Year 2077/78. Exports have increased compared to the last 11 years due to the recent increase in exports along with imports.

According to the data released by the department for the first ten months of the current Fiscal Year 2077/78 (Shrawan to Baisakh), the export of domestic goods amounted to Rs. 1 kharba 8 arba 47 crore during this period. Rs. 82 arba 6 crore 46 lakh goods were exported in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The government had set a target of exporting over Rs. 1 kharba in the last fiscal year 2066/67. The target has been achieved in the first ten months of the current fiscal year after 11 years.

Similarly, foreign goods worth Rs. 12 kharba 54 arba 11 crore have been imported in the last ten months. Imports have increased by 22.34 percent compared to the same period last year. In the corresponding period of the previous year, goods and services worth Rs. 10 kharba 25 arba 13 crore 77 lakh were imported.

According to the statistics, the trade deficit has increased by 21.48 percent this year. The share of imports in foreign trade is 92.4 percent and the share of exports is 7.96 percent. In terms of share, the share of imports declined by only 0.59 percent.

According to the statistics of the department, the foreign trade deficit has been Rs. 11 kharba 45 arba 63 crore in ten months. The trade deficit has come down as exports have declined compared to imports. In the corresponding period of the previous year, Nepal had to bear a foreign trade deficit of Rs. 9 kharba 43 arba 7 crore 30 lakh. Compared to last year, the trade deficit has increased by 21.48 percent this year.
