France and Portugal draw match : Euro Cup 2020

Portugal and France have drawn 2-2 in last night’s match under the ongoing Euro Cup 2020.

In the final match of Group F at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary, the current World Cup winners France and the current Euro Cup winners Portugal played a draw.

In the 31st minute of the first half, Portugal’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo gave Portugal the lead through a penalty. But in the extra time of the first half, French striker Karim Benzema scored from the penalty spot and the first 45 minutes ended in a 1-1 draw.

France doubled their lead in the first two minutes of the second half. France took the lead when Benzema scored his second individual goal in a Paul Pogba pass. Then in the 60th minute of the game, Ronaldo scored a record goal to level Portugal.

Ronaldo scored his second individual goal of the game from the penalty spot to become the top scorer on the international stage. He equaled Iran’s Ali Dai’s record of 109 goals.

With no goals in the game since then, France have entered the last 16 as group winners, while Portugal have entered the knockout stage in third place.
