Portugal beats Hungary: Euro Cup

Portugal beat Hungary 3-0 on Tuesday. Guerrero scored one goal and captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored a record two goals in Portugal’s victory.

In the 84th minute of the game, Portugal’s Rafa Silva’s shot deflected and reached Guerrero’s leg in which Guerrero’s shot took the direction of the goal post. Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the 87th minute.

Hungary’s Orban awarded a penalty to Rafa Silva. Ronaldo did not miss the opportunity. Ronaldo scored the team’s third and second individual goal in the second minute of injury time in the second half.

Ronaldo set three records in the game. He became the highest scoring player in the Euro Cup and the first player to score in five consecutive Euros. He also became the first player to play in five Euro Cups.

Ronaldo became the first player to play in five editions of the Euro Cup since taking the field against Hungary on Tuesday. He had previously played in the Euro Cup in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. The record of playing in four editions of the Euro Cup is in the name of 17 players along with Ronaldo.

He set another record by scoring against Hungary. He became the highest scoring player in the Euro Cup and managed to score 11 goals in five Euro Cups.

Ronaldo had previously equaled Platini’s record of nine goals. Ronaldo scored 2 goals in 2004, 1 goal in 2008, 3 goals in 2012 and 3 goals in 2016. Ronaldo also holds the record for most Euro Cup games. He has played 22 games in five editions.
