The investigation committee handed over the footage of the hospital to the police while meeting the accused of the incident on Saturday

Doctors, nurses, health workers, stakeholders including the Hospital Development Committee and the local police administration have urged to work hard with high morale as before as there is a reliable security arrangement in the hospital.

Krishna Prasad Shrestha, a member of the Hospital Development Committee, said that Lumbini State Police Chief Rabindra Dhanuk himself had reached from Dang and urged them not to worry about the security of the hospital and return to work.

According to Shrestha, the health workers have accepted the request of all including the police administration to return to work keeping in view the current special situation as three of the key people involved in the incident have been arrested, cases have been filed against them and search for others involved has been intensified.

“After discussions between the hospital development committee, local government representatives, the chief of police administration, doctors and health workers, all the doctors and staff have returned to work as before,” Shrestha said.

Similarly, a seven-member working committee led by Assistant Chief District Officer Shankar Bahadur Bisht has taken information about the incident on Friday along with eyewitnesses, doctors and nurses who were attacked and beaten.

“We have also collected information about the incident today from other eyewitness wards, staff and doctors and nurses working in the ward,” Shrestha said.

Shrestha, a member of the Hospital Development Committee, said that 40 percent of the investigation was completed on Friday.

“We will also talk to them about the incident,” Shrestha said. “We will also discuss with civil society, human rights activists and other people and submit a report.”

Shrestha said that the doctors and health workers had agreed to return to work with the belief that action would be taken against the culprits as there was widespread protest and everyone demanded action against the culprits.

Are you under pressure? Shrestha could not deny that. “Some of my friends are of the opinion that the people accused in the incident should work together as they have political access,” said Shrestha.

Health workers are protesting against the attack on a doctor and a nurse by the relatives of a Corona-infected patient in Dang who died while undergoing treatment last night.

All the health workers had protested at the hospital premises demanding immediate action against the culprits. His performance affected the hospital’s covid ward treatment.

After the death of the patient, his relatives entered the ICU room and attacked the health worker, according to Bheri Hospital. Health workers said that they saved their lives by jumping out of the toilet window.

Dr. Chandra Prakash Sahu, nurses Sadiksha Gaire, Bandana Shrestha and Ashwin Gurung jumped from the first floor to escape the attack. The health workers of the hospital have said that strict action should be taken against the culprit to prevent such incident.
