Voting for National Assembly members begins, results to come today

Voting for the National Assembly has started in Lumbini. The result of the by-election is expected today.

CPN (Maoist Center) National Assembly member Chandra Bahadur Khadka was arrested after joining the CPN (UML). The by-election was held after his parliamentary seat became vacant.

Nepali Congress ‘Drug Narayan Pandey and CPN (UML)’ s Khadka are the candidates in the by-election which started at 9 am today. The Congress candidate has the support of UCPN (M), Upendra Yadav faction of Jaspa, Madhav Kumar Nepal faction of UML and Rastriya Janamorcha. Similarly, Khadka has been supported by the Mahanta Thakur group of Jaspa.

There are 300 voters in the by-elections. Of them, 83 are state assembly members and 217 are local level chiefs and deputy chiefs.

According to the Election Office, 93 votes have been cast by 10 am. Voting will run until 3 p.m.

According to the Election Office, the counting of votes will take place immediately after the polling ends. The result of the vote is also coming today.
