Gandaki Youth and Sports Minister Rajiv Gurung (Deepak Manange) has resigned from the post.

Manange resigned after Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung lost a vote of confidence in the House on Thursday. Opposing Chief Minister Gurung, Manange was absent from the state assembly meeting.

He said that he has resigned from the ministry with effect from Thursday.

He said that keeping the parliament alive is the responsibility and morality of the people’s representatives towards the people. He said that he had resigned from the post as he had to save the state assembly instead of becoming a minister in such a situation.

It is mentioned in the resignation letter that it is not morally acceptable for the Chief Minister to remain in the post of Minister after losing the vote of confidence in the Parliament.

Chief Minister Gurung has dismissed Manange and said that he has the responsibility of the sports ministry.
