An army helicopter rescued people from the roof of a hotel in Melamchi

The army rescued two people from the roof of Rose Hotel in Melamchi Bazaar on Wednesday morning. They were stranded at the hotel after the floods on Tuesday. The hotel was surrounded by floodwaters and some floors were submerged. When they were unable to get out, they went to the roof of the hotel.

Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk Arun Pokharel said that a Nepal Army helicopter was mobilized to rescue the flood victims. Similarly, seven people have died in floods in Helambu village of Sindhupalchowk district. The floods have also damaged houses and bridges in Melamchi Bazaar.
